Travel Route

Dehradun (night stay) to Kharsali – Kharsali to Harsil to Gangotri & back to Harsil – Harsil to Guptkashi to Kedarnath & back to Guptkashi – Guptkashi to Badrinath – Badrinath to Dehradun.

Day 1: Dehradun night stay

After reaching the starting point either by railways or airways, overnight stay at Four Points Hotel (by Sheraton) or any other room of the same standard and luxury, expenses covered for dinner and pick up cab facility.

Day 2: Dehradun to Kharsali

Early morning departure, at 5 AM IST, to Sahastradhara Helipad for a helicopter ride to Kharsali, taking approximately 30 minutes. Check-in to the hotel at Kharsali. A cabs facility will be provided for the same. After refreshing and having served a decent breakfast, travel to the hilly terrain of Yamunotri either by Pony or Palki. After offering prayers at the heritage temple, which is 6 kms, return to Kharsali for an overnight stay in cottages at Yamunotri. Staying at these cottages will offer a lifetime experience with quality food served.

Day 3: Kharsali to Harsil to Gangotri & back to Harsil

Helicopter ride to Harsil, in the morning, estimated travel time 30 minutes. Check-in at Himalayan Nature Resort for refreshments and breakfast. Afterward, a car/ jeep will take you to Harsil, which is a 60-minute drive. Once, the Darshan and Pooja rituals are performed, the travelers return to Harsil for leisure and a night stay at the Himalayan Nature resort. Enjoy the rest of the day in the scenic lap of the Himalayas.

Day 4: Harsil to Guptkashi to Kedarnath & back to Guptkashi

After having breakfast, Travel from Harsil to Guptkashi by helicopter in the morning which takes roughly 40 minutes. As government norms do not allow direct air travel to Kedarnath, we have to change the helicopter at Guptkashi and take another one from the same helipad. We reach Kedarnath by 8 AM. The helipad and the temple are 400 meters away and everyone will be provided special Darshan passes. Once the Darshan is over, you will travel back to Guptkashi. Accommodation at Himalayan Nature resort, with healthy lunch and the rest of the day, enjoy the scenic beauty of the Himalayas.

Day 5: Guptkashi to Badrinath

Early in the morning once the breakfast is done, we take a ride to Badrinath, which is hardly 30 minutes by vehicle. There we check in to Sarovar Portico. After light refreshment, we proceed to pooja and Darshan. After visiting the temple, we stay back there, explore the surroundings and enjoy the stay at Sarovar Portico.

Day 6: Badrinath to Dehradun

On the last leg of our journey, one can take part in the Maha-Abhishek ceremony which starts at 4 AM and ends at 7 AM, at the temple. For this, you have to inform us in advance, so that proper arrangements could be made to avoid any last-minute hassle as there are limited seats for this ceremony. After breakfast, we take you to the helipad to take the ride to Dehradun, where guests are accommodated at the hotel from where they can take their onward journey back home.

Which is the best Time to Visit Uttarakhand for Char Dham Tour?

The best time to visit Char Dham is May-June and September-October. During the monsoon period (July-August) Helicopter services to Chardham are suspended.

What clothes you should carry and what kind of weather you should expect?

In the summer season you can feel the chill, so come prepared with some woolen clothes, a cap, sports shoes (shoes should not be slippery), an umbrella, a stick (can get one over there), a raincoat, a torch, some body and face lotion, etc.
